ToggleVal jQuery Plugin

ToggleVal will allow you to customize form fields to display default text within form fields.

ToggleVal gives you the option to populate the default text of form fields (in a few different ways), and will then toggle the default value when the field receives and loses keyboard focus.

Shadow Motion Effect in 5 Lines Of jQuery

Who doesn’t love motion effects, right? shadows following the motion of movements while in a fighting scene, some of my favorite scenes are from The Matrix, Kung Fu Hustle, etc. I donâ€™t event know how this effect is called, but sure is an awesome effect. The good news is that now-a-days we can create animations and play with them. Itâ€™s no an easy task to control distance and motion (the complex the code, the better control). The amazing part is that something like this can be done with 5 lines of jQuery!

Pines Notify jQuery Plugin

Advanced jQuery background image slideshow

A couple of weeks ago, I received an e-mail from a guy named Patrick. He just visited the website from Philadelphia and wanted to know how to create the slideshow header that’s on top of the page. Since I was also impressed by the effect, I took the time to recreate this effect myself. Our focus is the background image slideshow (including the text), not the other things (like the dropdown menu).

Better Captions for jQuery’s FancyBox Plugin

A month or two ago I was implementing jQuery’s awesome FancyBox plugin, but the application I was working with demanded long captions. In some cases, the captions were exceptionally long. Unfortunately, the one thing that FancyBox doesn’t do well is long captions:

After a few changes to the stylesheet and some light enhancements to the code, I managed to get the effect I was looking for. The caption actually fades in and out on mouse-over, so it’s not as obtrusive as it looks in the screenshot:

jQuery Right-click Plugin

This plugin enables you to use jQuery to attach events triggered by the right mouse button. Three right-click events are supported: rightClick, rightMouseUp, and rightMouseDown. There is also a built-in method to disable browser context menus.

Note that for left-handed users the “right” mouse button is actually on the left. The use of “right” and “left” when referring to mouse buttons has become commonplace, therefore it is used as such in this article to prevent confusion.

jQuery MultiSelect is a configurable plugin for jQuery. It is designed to turn ordinary multi-select form controls into user-friendly dropdown lists. Check out the demo to see an example.

This project was inspired by arco90’s MultiSelect tool, but was written entirely from scratch to make it easier to implement, more accessible, and to shorten the code length.
